People Are Just Realising Oasis Had Another Tickets Fiasco Early In Their Career

Now that the dust has settled since the Oasis tickets fiasco, it may be tempting to ask yourself why audiences are so demanding these days, why is it so hard to get tickets?

However, fighting to get tickets to an Oasis gig is nothing new and in fact, almost 30 years ago, two-and-a-half million people were in a desperate scramble to nab tickets to their Knebworth show.

The BBC said: “More than four per cent of the population applied for tickets to see Oasis at Knebworth, the largest ever demand for concert tickets in British history.

“A whopping 250,000 people got to see the band over two nights – another record – but incredibly, Oasis could have sold out another 18 Knebworth shows.”

Staggering.

The iconic shows were unforgettable, too, with a VIP tent that hosted 90′s legends such as Kate Moss and Patsy Palmer and a backstage experience that was almost as jaw-dropping as the show itself.

According to The Quietus: “Oasis and their then label Creation once really did run an all-you-can-eat spectacular. All-you-can-drink as well. The backstage bounty at Oasis’s 1996 shows at Knebworth was astonishing.

“An immense marquee was lined with bars, all fully stocked with any drink you could imagine. A barbecue sizzled eternal. To anyone with a pass it was all free, all day.”

Noel doesn’t remember any of it, though

While fans and critics alike would agree that Oasis at Knebworth was unforgettable and one for the music history books, Noel Gallagher doesn’t remember performing there.

Speaking on Desert Island Discs, the musician said: “Genuinely, now, if I close my eyes, I can’t remember walking on stage at Knebworth. I know it took place because there were lots of people there.”

Er, yes, there certainly were.

Oasis Set The Record Straight Amid Widespread Glastonbury 2025 Rumours

Oasis have dismissed speculation that they will be making an appearance at next year’s Glastonbury festival.

Despite the initial announcement about Liam and Noel Gallagher’s upcoming reunion shows specifying they would mark fans’ only opportunity to see them live in 2025, the last few days have seen rumours emerging suggesting the group could be putting in a performance on the Pyramid Stage next year.

However, they have now spoken out to insist this will not be the case.

“Despite media speculation, Oasis will not be playing Glastonbury 2025 or any other festivals next year,” they said in a statement.

“The only way to see the band perform will be on their Oasis Live ’25 World Tour.”

It’s perhaps worth pointing out that earlier in the summer, Noel made headlines when he slated the most recent Glastonbury line-up, for which he ended up facing a huge backlash.

After literal years of theorising about whether the estranged Gallagher brothers would ever put their differences aside and perform together again, it was confirmed on Tuesday morning that Oasis would be doing a string of gigs around the UK and Ireland in 2025.

So far, a total of 15 live shows have been announced, beginning in Cardiff in July.

Following this, the tour will travel to Manchester, London and Edinburgh, with two last shows scheduled for Dublin on 16 and 17 August.

Alongside the announcement, Oasis said:

“The guns have fallen silent.

“The stars have aligned.

“The great wait is over.

“Come see.

“It will not be televised.”

We Can’t Stop Watching This Clip Of Mr Blobby Covering Wonderwall At A UK Festival

Between Lana Del Rey at Coachella, SZA shutting it down at Glastonbury and Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour finally hitting UK shores, we can safely say that 2024 has been a big year for live music.

Yet all of that pales in comparison to what has quickly become our favourite festival set of the past year.

Over the weekend, the family-friendly Gloworm Festival took place in Nottingham, with acts and entertainment to keep people of all ages happy.

And really, what says entertainment like a Mr Blobby acoustic set?

Thankfully, TikTok user Kate Monroe Groves was there to do God’s work, capturing the divisive children’s character on camera during his heartfelt rendition of Oasis’ Wonderwall.

What we particularly enjoy is that, while Blobby is probably best known for creating chaos wherever he goes, dragging people to the floor and smashing anything he can lay his polkadot hands on, his cover of Wonderwall is actually an altogether more serious affair, bringing out a more solemn side of the bow-tied anarchist.

“The best headliner you could ever want at a festival,” Kate captioned her clip – which has already been viewed more than two million times since the weekend – and we can’t say we disagree with her.

As it turns out, though, this isn’t Mr Blobby’s first time at the Wonderwall rodeo.

There’s Been An Intriguing Update From Liam Gallagher Amid Fresh Oasis Reunion Claims

Liam Gallagher has spoken out amid rumours that he and his brother Noel had recently been planning an Oasis reunion.

The Gallagher brothers were part of Oasis for 18 years before they ultimately went their separate ways in 2009 , and have been embroiled in a very public feud ever since.

In the years that followed, there’ve been repeated calls for Oasis to reform in some capacity, with The Mirror reporting over the weekend that Liam and Noel had even quietly set dates aside this year to perform at Wembley Stadium, which would have taken place in July.

However, the tabloid cited an undisclosed “source” who claimed these plans “collapsed” when Noel decided not to be involved and the booked dates were then cancelled.

On Sunday morning, one fan asked Liam on X if an Oasis reunion was “actually happening”, to which he responded: “Nobody’s told me, maybe [they’re] getting a new singer like the dude out of Queen.”

The following day, another fan asked Liam more directly about the rumours of three nights at Wembley.

“What you asking me for? I know nothing,” Liam wrote back.

Back in February, Liam told Mojo magazine that an offer had been put “on the table” for Oasis to get back together, but Noel wasn’t interested.

“Noel? He ain’t fucking doing it,” he said. “We put an offer on the table for an Oasis thing, because we got offered it – he said no. It was a big tour, a lot of money.”

When Liam claimed around this time that his “greedy” brother had turned down £100 million to reunite, Noel made a rare comment on X, insisting: “I am not aware of any offer from anybody for any amount of money to reform the legendary Mancunian Rock’n’Roll group Oasis.”

“I am fully aware though that someone has a single to promote so that’s maybe where the confusion lies,” he also quipped.

Liam is currently in the middle of an arena tour, performing Oasis’ seminal Definitely Maybe album in full to commemorate its 30th anniversary.

Noel Gallagher ‘Covered In Blood’ And Needing Stitches After Being Headbutted During Manchester City Celebrations

Noel Gallagher has revealed he needed stitches and was “covered in blood” after getting accidentally headbutted by Manchester City player Ruben Dias’ dad.

The Oasis star was in the stands at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon to watch Manchester City score three goals in five minutes to secure the Premier League trophy.

The musician and lifelong City fan was celebrating with the fans before getting caught by Ruben’s dad during the chaotic celebrations.

Sharing the story on talkSPORT, he said: “So as the third goal goes in, right, there is absolute bedlam, as you can imagine, in the stadium. Where we sit, Reuben Diaz’s family are in the box, a couple of boxes up.

“So I’m jumping around like an idiot, passing my 11-year-old son around like the Premier League trophy, everyone is lifting him up.

“I turn around and Rúben Dias’ dad runs straight into me, headbutts me while I’m on the floor covered in blood. I don’t see the last two minutes I’ve got to get taken down by the St John Ambulance and had to get stitched up. I’ve got stitches in my top lip, I’ve got two black eyes.”

Noel says he bumped into the winning team’s manager Pep Gaurdiola following the incident, who asked what had happened to his face.

“As I’m going down the corridor Pep’s running up crying and we kind of hug each other and he says, ‘What’s up with your face?’ And I was like, ‘Go see the players, nothing to do with me’.

“And if you’ve seen me today, I look like I’ve just arrived home from the 80s, from Elland Road. I look like I’ve had my head smashed in. It’s unbelievable.

“A lot of City fans are asking, ‘You alright? What’s happened?’ And I said – ‘You’ll never guess!’”

Noel added that despite his own injuries, Rúben Dias’ dad came out of the exchange without a mark on him.

“He’s a big bear of a man – he almost knocked my teeth out.

“But as days go at the Etihad that’s got to be up there with the best.”
