With ITV1 splitting TV coverage of the Women’s World Cup with the BBC, there’s set to be disruption to regular programming in the coming weeks.

The tournament is currently underway in Australia and New Zealand, meaning that many games are taking place in the morning hours for sports fans in the UK.

As a result, ITV1′s regular daytime staples Good Morning Britain, Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women will either be off air completely or have adjusted timeslots.

So, if you’re flicking on the telly disappointed not to see Susanna Reid, Lorraine Kelly, Alison Hammond and co on your screens, here’s the full schedule for ITV1 daytime this week…

Loose Women’s Coleen Nolan Opens Up About Skin Cancer Diagnosis

Loose Women star Coleen Nolan has opened up about receiving a skin cancer diagnosis.

The daytime TV panellist told viewers of Monday’s show that she underwent treatment for basal cell carcinoma on her shoulder, before being told she has a melanoma on her face.

Coleen – whose sister Bernie died from breast cancer in 2013, before her other sisters Anne and Linda were later diagnosed with the cancer – explained how she had put off getting a red patch of skin on her shoulder checked for a year, explaining that it “wasn’t bothering” her.

It was only when she visited a doctor for a different issue around six months ago that she was told it was a basal cell carcinoma, which the NHS describes as a non-melanoma skin cancer that does not usually spread to other parts of the body.

Coleen has since used topical chemotherapy cream to successfully treat it, which she confirmed means she will not need to have it removed.

“My first instinct, typical me, was to laugh hysterically because I just thought that’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard anybody say,” she said of being told the news.

“I’m sick of cancer and I also my first instinct was, I’m not telling anybody in my family because this, that I’ve got at the moment, seems nothing compared to what my sisters have been though.

“And now, what Linda is going through, where it has gone to her brain and she’s having chemo.

“It just seemed so pathetic for some reason to go back and go: ‘Oh yeah, I’ve got a carcinoma’.”

However, Coleen recently had a mark underneath her eye checked out, which doctors confirmed was melanoma skin cancer, which can spread to other areas of the body.

She will now use chemo cream again to treat the area, before a decision is made whether to remove it.

While Coleen said she had “not been ill” with either of her skin cancers, she explained she was speaking about it on Loose Women to raise awareness, having previously done this when participating in The Real Full Monty series.

“The one thing we keep putting out is awareness. It’s all about getting checked out, even if it could be nothing,” she said.

“I thought I need to take a leaf out of my own book.”

Coleen’s sister Linda is was told she had incurable secondary breast cancer in her hip in 2017, four years after Bernie’s death from the disease aged 52.

The cancer later spread to Linda’s liver in 2020, before she was told earlier this year that the cancer had spread to her brain.

The siblings’ sister Anne successfully underwent treatment for stage three breast cancer following her diagnosis in 2020, having previously undergone treatment for the disease 20 years prior.

Coleen shortly after Anne and Linda’s 2020 diagnosis, Coleen said she was considering an elective double mastectomy operation to minimise her own chances of developing the disease.

Loose Women panellist Brenda Edwards has launched her debut fashion collection with QVC.

Brenda’s foray into the fashion sector with her new range, Be U By Brenda Edwards, is perfectly timed as spring is just around the corner, so shoppers can revamp their wardrobe in time for the warmer months and any upcoming holidays.

The 53-year-old singer and presenter previously worked with the video commerce retailer to curate her own edit back in 2022.

Now, she has gone one step further and followed in the footsteps of fellow Loose Women star Ruth Langsford to launch her very own fashion line, which has been two years in the making.

Speaking about the inspiration behind her latest venture, Brenda said: “In the Be U collection you can expect lots of bold beautiful prints, lovely bright colours and clothes that are designed to make you feel as good in yourself as you will look wearing them.

“I want women to feel that they can be adventurous with their clothing and not restrict themselves. The clothing in my collection isn’t restrictive either and it works with any shape/size.

“I want everyone to be confident in their bodies and know that they look good while also feeling comfortable in what they’re wearing. I put a lot of myself into this range, so when you wear it I want you to feel like you can Be U.”

Brenda was keen to launch a spring/summer capsule because she believes it is the perfect time to inject colour into your wardrobe, be playful with prints, which she has designed herself, and fabrics.

She continued: “I love spring because you can really experiment with colour and vibrant prints. In the collection we have used lightweight materials that will blow in the spring air and put a spring in your step.

“I’ve learnt a lot about how much work goes into the material and colour choices, and even the process of making my own prints. I was surprised to learn that different types of materials are better for different things, with certain materials make some designs look totally different. This collection has been two years in the making so the lead in time was also a huge surprise.”

Brenda is excited to see her creations come to life with shoppers wearing her designs – but not as excited as we are to wear them.

“I can’t wait to see lots of ladies walking down the street wearing clothes from my collection”, she shared.

Brenda has hinted this is only the beginning of her collaboration with QVC, as she has teased more collections could be in the making.

Brenda added: “It will be great to continue working on the range and I’m looking forward to getting feedback from the customer so that the collection can keep growing and evolving with the customer at the heart.”

Brenda’s Be U collection is super inclusive, as the garments come in a range of sizes, from extra small to 4XL, to suit every body shape and occasion.

Denise Welch Shuts Down Rumours Of ‘Backstage Feuds’ Among Loose Women Stars

Denise Welch has dismissed speculation about fall-outs behind the scenes of Loose Women.

Over the years, the ITV daytime show has been at the centre of several ‘feud’ reports, which the long-serving panellist has admitted “upsets” her.

Speaking to The Sun, Denise insisted that while her co-stars can get involved in some “very feisty debates”, they are all “great friends”.

“I’m not afraid to be passionate and committed about something, we all have different views, we’re great friends,” she said.

“I do get upset that people are trying to make out that we’re always in some backstage feud. I haven’t fallen out with any of them in 20 years – but we have very feisty debates.”

Denise added: “It’s a show that encourages and appreciates older women, so we’re all going to be a bit set in our ways because we all have our own opinions.”

The former Coronation Street actor is the latest in a line of Loose Women stars to publicly refute claims of drama backstage on the show.

Jane Moore told OK! magazine last year: “In the ad breaks, we’ll say, ‘that [debate] was a bit fiery, wasn’t it?’. [But] I have an issue when people say, ‘Jane Moore and Nadia Sawalha cat fight on Loose Women’. Please, come on, we’re past that.

“They never do it about two blokes on a news programme and it’s so lame. Let’s move on, we’re not in the 1950s anymore. But we take it in our stride and get on with it.”

Meanwhile, anchor Charlene White branded claims about feuds “absolute nonsense”, insisting: “When you’re on the outside looking in and you see all those stories… written about the ladies on the panel, you have an impression of what it’s going to be like. Then you walk into this amazing group of women and realise that everyone’s incredibly supportive.”

Frankie Bridge also called out the double standard when it comes to reporting about the Loose Women panellists.

“I think it’s sad that this doesn’t happen on something like A League of Their Own with a group of men. It’s just not mentioned. And coming from a girl band, it’s exactly the same thing,” she said.

“Everyone always wants women to fight and it’s a real shame that it undoes all the good that Loose Women does.”

Strictly Come Dancing Result: Loose Women Star Kaye Adams Is First Celebrity Voted Off

Kaye Adams has become the first celebrity to be voted off this year’s series of Strictly Come Dancing.

The Loose Women star found herself in the bottom two alongside singer Matt Goss on Sunday night’s results show after the judges’ scores were combined with the results of the viewers’ votes.

Both stars faced each other in the dreaded dance-off, with Kaye and her dance partner Kai Widdrington performing their Charleston, whilst Matt and his dance partner Nadiya Bychkova performed their Samba in a bid to impress the judges and remain in the competition.

After both couples had danced a second time, the judges – Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke and head judge Shirley Ballas – delivered their verdicts.

Craig chose to save Matt and Nadiya, as did Motsi, who said: “Well that was so close, both couples made mistakes. I feel like they were on the same level, but one couple was a little bit better for me, and I am saving Matt and Nadiya.”

Anton Du Beke also chose to save Matt and Nadiya, admitting it “wasn’t a vintage dance-off”.

With three votes to Matt and Nadiya, it meant they had won the majority vote and so Kaye would be leaving the competition. However, head Judge Shirley Ballas said she would have decided to save Kaye and Kai.

When asked if she agreed with the other judges, Shirley said: “I didn’t. I thought due to a little better quality, I would have saved Kaye and Kai.”

When asked by host Tess Daly about their time on the show, Kaye said: “It was the right result and I did make mistakes, and when it comes to that high pressured situation that’s what happens. So I am delighted for Matt and Nadiya, the only person I am just sorry for is this wonderful man [Kai], who has just been so brilliant.

“It was a hell of a lot of fun, I said my ambition was to learn to love to dance, and actually I have seen a whole new side to myself, it’s opened a little door. It’s been a wonderful experience and to spend time with such talented people who love the show. So much has been a joy.”

Kai was then asked if he had any words for Kaye and said: “Only we know how much real hard work has gone into this. There has been lots of ups and downs and we won’t go into them, but this lady is a trooper, and I know what she’s been going through in the week.

“For this woman to come out and give the performance that she did tonight really shows the testament to her character. I am proud of you, I know that your girls and your other half are proud of you, but the most important thing is that you should be proud of yourself, because you are a superstar.”

The remaining fourteen couples will take to the dance floor again next week for the annual Movie Week Special when Strictly returns on Saturday 8 October at 6:30pm. The results show follows on Sunday 9 October at 7:20pm on BBC One.

Loose Women Deny Latest Reports Of Supposed Behind-The-Scenes Drama

Loose Women bosses have denied fresh rumours of alleged behind-the-scenes tension among some of the show’s panellists.

A report published in the Mail On Sunday claimed that Nadia Sawalha was refusing to appear on the panel alongside Coleen Nolan, due to derogatory comments allegedly made by Coleen’s agent about Nadia on Twitter last year.

The article also alleged that Stacey Solomon had requested she no longer appear on the show with Coleen, when the former I’m A Celebrity winner returns from maternity leave later this year.

However, a representative for the ITV daytime show has dismissed the rumours outright, claiming that members of the Loose Women panel don’t actually have any say in who they share the episode with.

A spokesperson told HuffPost UK the Mail’s “story is untrue”, adding: “Panellists are chosen for each show by the Loose Women Editor and senior production team, not the panellists themselves.”

Coleen also denied the reports on her official Twitter page, stating that “nothing printed in the Mail article today is true”.

She added that she was “taking legal advice” on the matter, and would be also be addressing it on Loose Women in the days to come.

The former Celebrity Big Brother winner’s publicist also denied the reports, telling HuffPost UK they were “100% untrue”.

Coleen also received a message of support from her fellow Loose Women panellists Janet-Street Porter:

Nadia Sawalha’s spokesperson had no comment when approached by HuffPost UK.

Coleen first joined Loose Women in 2000, staying with the show on-and-off for 11 years before deciding to take a break.

She later returned as a full-time member of the panel in 2013.

Towards the end of last year, Coleen spoke out about how the show had changed since she first joined, admitting she felt it had become less “free” in recent times.

“It’s a very different show, because the world has changed – and I have to say [it’s changed] for the better in a lot of respects,” she said. “You cannot get away with certain things now. However, it was a much easier show to do in those days.”

Nadia is also among Loose Women’s longest-serving stars, and was among its original presenters when it launched in 1999.

She stepped down in 2002, but eventually returned in 2013, around the same time as Coleen.

Meanwhile, Stacey became a permanent Loose Women panellist in 2016, after a string of guest appearances went down a storm with viewers.

She has been credited with bringing a fresh energy to the show, alongside more recent additions like comedian Judi Love and news anchor Charlene White.

Loose Women’s Coleen Nolan Admits Show Has Become Less ‘Free’ Over The Years

Long-serving Loose Women presenter Coleen Nolan has opened up about how she feels the show has become less “free” over the years.

Coleen joined the ITV daytime show more than 20 years ago, and in that time has become one of its staple panellists.

In a new interview with the podcast Secure The Insecure, the former Celebrity Big Brother winner reflected on how Loose Women has had to adapt over the years as the “world has changed”.

“It was free,” Coleen recalled of her early days on Loose Women. “It’s not free now. It’s a very different show, because the world has changed – and I have to say [it’s changed] for the better in a lot of respects. You cannot get away with certain things now.

“However, it was a much easier show to do in those days.”

She continued: “Everything we discuss in the [pre-show] meetings, all our opinions and all of that – they all have to go up to legal to be looked over, to make sure that we’re hopefully not going to offend.

“You very much self-edit on that show now, and that’s because of social media as well.”

Coleen added that she often finds herself holding back her “genuine” opinions due to concerns about a backlash, which she said is a “shame”.

“I would like to think we can all have opinions and that doesn’t warrant somebody being nasty to you just because they don’t agree,” Coleen added, noting: “But that’s the world we live in now.”

During her time on Loose Women, Coleen has come under fire on several occasions.

Back in 2007, she sparked controversy when she claimed she was not in favour of same-sex couples adopting children, and eight years later made headlines when she defended a bakery that had been found guilty of discrimination for refusing to make a cake with a message in support of marriage equality.

“What about if somebody walked in and said I want a cake and I want the whole Islamic State on it and how I support it and how I support them killing our people?” Coleen questioned. “Because it’s a business, do they have to make it?”

However, her biggest Loose Women controversy came in 2018, when she clashed with her former Celebrity Big Brother housemate Kim Woodburn during a segment that was intended for them to put their differences behind them.

The incident sparked thousands of complaints to Ofcom, with Coleen taking an extended break from Loose Women at the time due to a barrage of online abuse.

Charlene White Quits As Host Of Press Awards Over Society Of Editors’ Racism Statement

Award-winning journalist and Loose Women panellist Charlene White has pulled out of hosting the Society of Editors’ National Press Awards following the Society’s widely ridiculed claim that the UK media is “not racist”.

In a statement sent to the SoE’s executive director Ian Murray, seen by HuffPost UK, White cited the much-criticised statement, released on Monday in the wake of Harry and Meghan’s interview with Oprah Winfrey.

“Perhaps it’s best for you to look elsewhere for a host for your awards this year,” she said.

“Perhaps someone whose views align with yours: that the UK press is the one institution in the entire country who has a perfect record on race.”

The first Black woman to present the ITV News At Ten, White worked in several senior broadcasting roles at the BBC before joining ITN in 2008.

In 2020 she made her debut appearance as a guest presenter on Loose Women, and it was announced in January that she would become a regular in the wake of Andrea McLean’s exit from the show.

The National Press Awards, organised by the SoE, are set to take place on March 31, recognising outstanding coverage by journalists in the UK across 2020. Among the shortlisted candidates is HuffPost UK’s own Aasma Day, for her work on “reporting diversity”.

White, who has been involved in the awards as a judge for several years, called out the SoE’s inconsistent approach to racism and representation in the media, writing: “Your organisation approached me to become a judge for its awards and to work alongside you because at that time it was hugely lacking in terms [of] being a fair reflection of the UK population. In other words, the nominations and winners list involved very few non-white journalists.

“This is not an unusual scenario, unfortunately. Over the years several organisations have been held to account for eradicating and ignoring the work of ethnic minority professionals – and women.

“So, you told me you wanted that to change. In fact, we spoke at length about it.

“But here’s the thing. I only work with organisations who practise what they preach. My time is precious, so I’d rather not waste it.”

Murray, in a statement published on Monday, sparked a backlash against the organisation when he claimed: “The UK media has never shied away from holding a spotlight up to those in positions of power, celebrity or influence.

“If sometimes the questions asked are awkward and embarrassing, then so be it, but the press is most certainly not racist.”

His assertion, which he went on to defend in a heated interview with Victoria Derbyshire on Tuesday, was fiercely criticised – not least by members of the SoE’s own board, who said they were “deeply angry” about the way they had been represented.

The SoE represents almost 400 members in senior positions across the UK media, several of whom have now publicly declared their opposition to Murray’s statement.

More than 168 journalists, writers and broadcasters from Black and Asian backgrounds across the media on Tuesday signed an open letter describing the SoE’s position as “laughable” proof of “an institution and an industry in denial”.

In her statement, White said: “Since the Black Lives Matter movement really took hold in the UK last year, every single institution in this country has had to finally look at its failings and its position in terms of how they treat ethnic minorities both inside and outside of its walls.

“But for some unknown reason, you feel as though the UK press is exempt in that discussion. I could list the many many studies that have been done on this, or I could quote facts and figures regarding the correlation between the lack of diversity in newsrooms and the way stories are covered.

“But I’m not your personal Google.

“What I am is a Black woman who has consistently stood up for what she believes in, irrespective of the impact it would have on my career.”

The SoE has since added a clarification to its original statement, rowing back only slightly on Murray’s claim that the UK press is “not bigoted”.

The addition reads: “The Society of Editors has a proud history of campaigning for freedom of speech and the vital work that journalists do in a democracy to hold power to account.

“Our statement on Meghan and Harry was made in that spirit but did not reflect what we all know: that there is a lot of work to be done in the media to improve diversity and inclusion.

“We will reflect on the reaction our statement prompted and work towards being part of the solution.”
