Susanna Reid Skewers Calls For Boris Johnson’s Return To Government With 1 Stark Reminder

Susanna Reid effortlessly demolished calls for Boris Johnson to return to frontline politics on Tuesday by reminding his supporters about nothing other than partygate.

Speaking on ITV’s Good Morning Britain, former Tory MEP David Campbell Bannerman said he would install Johnson as party chairman with a seat in cabinet, and make sure he got elected to parliament at the next general election.

He claimed: “He’s a great campaigner and we really are missing that now – we’ve seen that at these disastrous local elections.”

“You remember partygate?” Reid interjected.

Johnson actually stepped down as an MP days before the Commons privileges committee was set to announce he deliberately misled parliament over partygate when prime minister.

But, Campbell Bannerman said the ex-PM was “set up” on that, as Johnson’s keen ally Nadine Dorries claims in her book, The Plot.

Reid said: “Sorry, he was set up? Set up by whom?”

When the ex-MEP said it was Johnson’s own staff who were setting him up, Reid reminded him: “Boris Johnson was in charge during lockdown, [there was] legislation he introduced and [he] then proceeded to have a whole load of social events and breach of rules in No.10 Downing Street.

“In what way was that a set-up?”

Campbell Bannerman claimed Johnson “doesn’t like partying” to which Reid said: “I just saw him with a wine glass in his hand!”

When the ex-MEP just claimed the reality is very complex, Reid recalled how Johnson was fined for breaching lockdown rules.

Campbell Bannerman then claimed that “it was the media”, and said that Johnson was only a few percentage points behind in the polls – and that he does not understand why he resigned as an MP.

“I think he will be back,” Campbell Bannerman said.

Apparently not deterred by Reid’s reminders, the ex-MEP later added: “I say to Conservative MPs, for heaven’s sake, step up, get rid of Sunak, let’s have a new leader, which can bring Boris back as part of a team – it has to be Suella [Braverman] or Kemi [Badenoch].”

He added that he “would not be averse” to having Nigel Farage back into the Conservative fold, too.

Epstein Accuser Backs Claims He Had ‘Sex Tapes’ Of Trump, Clinton And Prince Andrew

A Jeffrey Epstein accuser is speaking out about past claims she made that the late pedophile kept video footage of his various friends having sex at his home, saying it’s absolutely true and that she only recanted her story years ago out of fear following threats.

“It’s no secret that everything was recorded,” Sarah Ransome, who settled a civil suit with Epstein and his madam Ghislaine Maxwell in 2018, told Good Morning Britain on Tuesday. “Multiple victims have come forward confirming my account, along with others. I have also seen recordings in his office.”

These recordings supposedly show former President Donald Trump, former President Bill Clinton, Prince Andrew, and British business magnate Richard Branson having sex with an unnamed woman, Ransome claimed in 2016 emails that were published on Monday as part of a defamation lawsuit brought by fellow Epstein accuser, Virginia Giuffre.

A representative for Branson’s company, the Virgin Group, said Ransome’s claims are “baseless and unfounded” while citing a past interview she gave that called the tapes’ existence a work of fiction.

“We categorically reject all allegations made by Sarah Ransome. In 2019 she admitted to The New Yorker that the ‘tapes’ had been ‘invented,’ Any suggestion that Sir Richard Branson was involved in a ‘sex tape’ is entirely false. The allegations are baseless and unfounded,” said the representative in a statement to HuffPost. “The actions of Jeffrey Epstein were abhorrent and we support the right to justice for the many victims impacted by his abuse.”

No such tapes have been made public, nor has evidence supporting their existence.

The court documents published Monday include photos of Ransome, Maxwell, Epstein and other young women on Epstein’s private Caribbean island.

A final batch of seven documents from the court case was unsealed Tuesday.

Ransome said she recanted the tapes’ existence years ago because Maxwell, “amongst others, regularly enforced that if I ever did come forward, myself and my family would be harmed,” she told Good Morning Britain.

Epstein died in a New York City jail in 2019 while Maxwell is currently behind bars serving out a 20-year sentence related to helping him commit his sex crimes.

Ransome first came forward with her allegations to a New York Post reporter in 2016. She said the woman who allegedly had sex with the men had personally recalled her experiences with Ransome, particularly the woman’s one-on-one time with Trump, according to the court documents.

“She confided in me about her casual ‘friendship’ with Donald,” Ransome wrote of the woman in one email to the Post reporter. “Mr Trump definitely seemed to have a thing for her and she told me how he kept going on about how he liked her ‘pert nipples.’”

She added: “I also know she had sexual relations with Trump at Jeffery’s NY mansion on regular occasions.”

Ransome retracted these claims to the Post reporter shortly after, saying going public would bring “only bad things” and “pain for my family.” The story was not published.

Then in 2019, Ransome told The New Yorker that she entirely invented the video claims. She said she wanted to draw attention to Epstein’s crimes and make him believe that she had “evidence that would come out” if he went after her, according to her interview at the time.

Ransome told Good Morning Britain on Monday that she’d be willing to testify about their existence.

Rebecca Loos Opens Up About ‘Horrific’ Trolling She’s Received Following David Beckham’s Netflix Doc

Rebecca Loos has opened up about the trolling she has received following the release of David Beckham’s Netflix documentary.

Back in 2004, David’s ex-PA Rebecca claimed she had engaged in a four-month-long affair with the then-Real Madrid player, in an interview with the now-defunct News Of The World – which Becks blasted at the time as “ludicrous”.

But after the Beckhams discussed the media frenzy surrounding the allegations in the four-part documentary, Rebecca says has been targeted online.

Speaking on Good Morning Britain on Monday, Rebecca revealed: “I woke up to all these horrific messages on Instagram being called horrible names, awful trolling.

“I had heard about trolling before but never experienced it because 20 years ago we didn’t have social media.”

In the Netflix documentary – which is titled Beckham and aired on the streaming service on 4 October – David discussed the “pressure” the tabloid attention put on his and wife Victoria’s marriage.

“There were some horrible stories that were difficult to… deal with,” he revealed. “It was the first time that me and Victoria had been put under that kind of pressure in our marriage.”

“There were some days I would wake up and think, ‘How am I gonna go to work, how am I gonna walk onto that training pitch, how am I gonna look as though nothing’s wrong?’

“I felt physically sick every day when I opened my eyes, ‘How am I gonna do this?’”

Victoria added that the story was “a hundred per cent” the “hardest time” in her marriage, which came five years after they tied the knot in 1999.

Now the mother of two sons who are aged 14 and 11, Rebecca said during her GMB interview that she had told them about the documentary and “what had been said and how it made mummy feel”.

She added: “I said, ‘I feel that it’s very unfair, because of the way I’m being treated now, and the bullying I’m getting and the trolling, and I want to say something, and I’m going to do an interview so there might be some media and how do you feel about that?’

“And so my youngest son said, ‘Good for you, mummy. Yes, I would say something too.’”

Rebecca previously aired her thoughts on the Beckham documentary in an interview with the Mail On Sunday last week, accusing the former England captain of “making me look like a liar.”

HuffPost UK previously contacted representatives for David and Victoria Beckham after the interview’s publication, but did not receive responses.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV1. Beckham is available to stream on Netflix now.
