Strictly Come Dancing Result: Richie Anderson Becomes Second Celebrity To Leave

Richie Anderson has become the second celebrity to leave this year’s Strictly Come Dancing.

The BBC Radio 2 personality and his professional dance partner Giovanni Pernice were voted off the BBC ballroom competition on Sunday.

It came after they landed in the dreaded dance-off alongside Fleur East and her partner Vito Coppola.

Both couples had landed mid-table on the leaderboard during the show’s annual Movie Night, with Richie and Giovanni scoring 27 points for their Samba to Hakuna Matata from The Lion King, and Fleur and Vito scoring 29 for their American Smooth to Part Of Your World from The Little Mermaid.

But after the judges’ scores were combined with the votes from the public, both couples had to dance again and fight to stay in the competition.

Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke all voted to save Fleur and Vito, meaning that Richie and Giovanni were eliminated.

However, head judge Shirley Ballas admitted she would have voted to save Richie and Giovanni.

After the result was announced, Richie said of his time on the show: “Do you know what as a Strictly fan I always thought it was a magical thing to be a part of and being here it really is and it’s not just the people that you see on camera, the judges, and you and Claud and the amazing people that I’ve got to meet on this show. The people behind the scenes in hair, make up, costume, Tasha our runner, Stef, Jas, everybody.

“I also want to thank this guy [Giovanni] as well, he’s been so amazing, and I feel so lucky that I’ve got to dance with you every day. Not only are you a fantastic dancer but you are also a fantastic guy on top of that. I want to thank all my family and friends and my other half Dean who is in the audience, I love you so much.”

Giovanni added: “I have to say it’s been an honour to be able to dance with you because I know how much you love Strictly Come Dancing, you really are a superfan. And I’m glad that you got to do this experience and glad that I got to do it with you. It’s been a shame its been too short for us but I hope you’ve enjoyed every single second of it, and it stays in your heart forever.

“Look at us we’ve gone out dressed as Timon and Pumbaa. So lovely jubbly, well done Richie.”

The remaining 13 couples will take to the floor once again when Strictly Come Dancing returns on Saturday at 6.30pm on BBC One.

Strictly Come Dancing Result: Loose Women Star Kaye Adams Is First Celebrity Voted Off

Kaye Adams has become the first celebrity to be voted off this year’s series of Strictly Come Dancing.

The Loose Women star found herself in the bottom two alongside singer Matt Goss on Sunday night’s results show after the judges’ scores were combined with the results of the viewers’ votes.

Both stars faced each other in the dreaded dance-off, with Kaye and her dance partner Kai Widdrington performing their Charleston, whilst Matt and his dance partner Nadiya Bychkova performed their Samba in a bid to impress the judges and remain in the competition.

After both couples had danced a second time, the judges – Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke and head judge Shirley Ballas – delivered their verdicts.

Craig chose to save Matt and Nadiya, as did Motsi, who said: “Well that was so close, both couples made mistakes. I feel like they were on the same level, but one couple was a little bit better for me, and I am saving Matt and Nadiya.”

Anton Du Beke also chose to save Matt and Nadiya, admitting it “wasn’t a vintage dance-off”.

With three votes to Matt and Nadiya, it meant they had won the majority vote and so Kaye would be leaving the competition. However, head Judge Shirley Ballas said she would have decided to save Kaye and Kai.

When asked if she agreed with the other judges, Shirley said: “I didn’t. I thought due to a little better quality, I would have saved Kaye and Kai.”

When asked by host Tess Daly about their time on the show, Kaye said: “It was the right result and I did make mistakes, and when it comes to that high pressured situation that’s what happens. So I am delighted for Matt and Nadiya, the only person I am just sorry for is this wonderful man [Kai], who has just been so brilliant.

“It was a hell of a lot of fun, I said my ambition was to learn to love to dance, and actually I have seen a whole new side to myself, it’s opened a little door. It’s been a wonderful experience and to spend time with such talented people who love the show. So much has been a joy.”

Kai was then asked if he had any words for Kaye and said: “Only we know how much real hard work has gone into this. There has been lots of ups and downs and we won’t go into them, but this lady is a trooper, and I know what she’s been going through in the week.

“For this woman to come out and give the performance that she did tonight really shows the testament to her character. I am proud of you, I know that your girls and your other half are proud of you, but the most important thing is that you should be proud of yourself, because you are a superstar.”

The remaining fourteen couples will take to the dance floor again next week for the annual Movie Week Special when Strictly returns on Saturday 8 October at 6:30pm. The results show follows on Sunday 9 October at 7:20pm on BBC One.

Lewis Capaldi Leaves BBC Breakfast’s Naga Munchetty And Charlie Stayt Speechless After X-Rated ‘Communication Breakdown’

There’s always some laughs guaranteed when Lewis Capaldi pops up on TV and his appearance on BBC Breakfast on Saturday proved to be no different, after what he called “a classic breakdown of communication”.

The Someone You Loved singer left hosts Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt speechless after mishearing a comment Naga made at the end of his interview on the show.

The X-rated moment came after Lewis had complimented Charlie on his “great hair”.

“Well you’ve got great hair too,” Charlie replied, before Lewis leaned in for a high-five.

Watching their blossoming bromance, Naga joked: “Would you like a room?”

“I thought you said rim!” Lewis said.

As Naga was left open-mouthed, laughter could be heard from behind the cameras.

“Jeez!” Charlie remarked.

Keen to quickly move things along, a smirking Naga joked she was going to “have a little word with Lewis” as she segued to a news bulletin.

Lewis had been on the show to promote his latest single Forget Me, which hit number one in the Official Chart last week.

Strictly Come Dancing Pairings Revealed: Which Professionals Have The Celebrities Been Partnered With?

The professional dancers who each of this year’s Strictly Come Dancing celebrities will be dancing with have been revealed.

On Friday night, the BBC aired the long-awaited Strictly 2022 launch show, during which viewers discovered the partnerships for the new series.

As part of the episode, it was announced that reigning champion Giovanni Pernice will be dancing with Radio 2 presenter Richie Anderson, while runner-up Johannes Radebe will dance with comedian Ellie Taylor.

It has also been revealed that, for the first time ever, there will be two same-sex pairings in the same season of Strictly, with stand-up comic Jayde Adams dancing with Karen Hauer.

Meanwhile, newcomers Vito Coppola and Carlos Gu will be dancing with pop singer Fleur East and CBBC star Molly Rainford, respectively, while Jowita Pryzstal has landed her first celebrity partner in wildlife presenter Hamza Yassin.

This year’s Strictly launch show was pre-recorded before the death of Queen Elizabeth II, and was originally supposed to air the weekend prior to her funeral.

Laura Whitmore Says There Was ‘Nothing More She Could Do’ With Love Island Role As She Explains Exit

Laura Whitmore has opened up about her exit from Love Island, claiming there was “nothing more” she could do with her hosting role.

The presenter announced she was leaving the ITV2 reality show last month after three series at the helm.

At the time, she said she found “certain elements of the show… very difficult”, including the travelling required.

In a new interview with ES Magazine, Laura has now further explained why she decided to quit, following the announcement she is to make her West End debut in play 2.22: A Ghost Story.

She said: “Love Island is a show that I love to watch, and I always want to work on shows that I enjoy. But there’s nothing more that I can do with it. There are parameters.

“When you work on the show, you can’t really talk about certain things. But I’m really proud of what I did, and proud to leave on what I think has been a brilliant series, with great winners.”

Laura said she was a “huge fan” of 2022 champions Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sanclimenti, adding: “I know Love Island. People love a journey. No-one wants a happy relationship, because life isn’t a happy relationship. We want to see the ups and downs.”

Laura took over as the host of Love Island for the show’s first winter season in 2020, after her predecessor Caroline Flack stood down amid her legal issues at that time.

She paid tribute to the late star when announcing her departure, saying: “I was only planning to fill in for Caroline for a series and it turned into three series. I hope I did you proud Caroline.”

Maya Jama, AJ Odudu and former Islander Maura Higgins have all been linked to the role since Laura stepped down.

ITV recently confirmed that Love Island would be airing two seasons in 2023, the first of which will see the show returning to South Africa for the first time since its initial winter run received a mixed response in 2020.

The Crown Casts Its Prince William And Kate Middleton For Season 6

The Crown has cast its Prince William and Kate Middleton as the hit Netflix series prepares to move closer towards more recent royal events.

The royal period drama returns for its fifth series later this year, with details of cast additions for its subsequent sixth season revealed by Deadline on Friday.

Two actors have been cast as Prince William, with teenager Rufus Kampa playing him at the age of 15, with Ed McVey taking over for his later teen and early adult years.

Meanwhile, Meg Bellamy has been cast as Kate, and said in a post on Instagram: “It is such an honour to be joining the most incredible cast and crew, and I will strive to do Kate justice.”

Ed added: “I’m absolutely buzzing to be given the opportunity to play Prince William in #thecrown in Series 6!!! Along side the amazing @megkbellamy.

“Gunna be an amazing shoot can’t wait to learn all I can!”

Rufus’ tenure as William will focus on the aftermath of Princess Diana’s death in 1997, while Ed will portray the prince as he begins dating Kate after meeting at University of St Andrews in Fife in 2001, according to Deadline.

The Crown will be all three of the actor’s first TV roles, with Rufus and Meg also landing their parts after replying to a callout on social media.

They will begin filming for the sixth and final season of The Crown later this year.

The show was originally slated to end after its fifth series, creator Peter Morgan made a U-turn on the decision.

The upcoming fifth season will see Imelda Staunton taking over the lead role of Queen Elizabeth II from Olivia Colman, while Jonathan Pryce will take over the role of Prince Philip from Tobias Menzies.

Dominic West will succeed Josh O’Connor as Prince Charles, with Elizabeth Debicki also taking over from Emma Corrin as Princess Diana.

It’s also been announced that Jonny Lee Miller will be a new addition to the cast, portraying prime minister John Major.

Neil Patrick Harris Reveals The Very On-Brand Name For His Modesty Pouch While Filming Uncoupled Sex Scenes

Neil Patrick Harris has opened up about what it was like to film the sex scenes in his hit Netflix series Uncoupled, revealing the very on-brand name he had for his penis pouch.

In the comedy drama, the actor plays a newly-single gay man in his late 40s whose life turned upside down when his partner walks out on him after 17 years together.

Appearing on the Armchair Expert with Dax Shephard podcast, Neil admitted he “created a little pouch and named it” to protect his modesty when shooting some of the show’s more intimate moments.

He said: “I was curious about the crown royal bag around your junk, because they just provide a bunch of options in your dressing room. Some have tape, some have drawstrings, and I was not sure and I don’t have any real modesty, so none of it really bothered me except that I didn’t know the other person.

“It was a lot of dating scenes on Grindr-style, so I would just meet the guy that I’m going to be humping, talk to the intimacy co-ordinator and then start humping.”

Neil continued: “I created a little pouch and named it – it’s the NPH, the Neil Penis Holder. It’s like a very stretchy ring that then they rip stitch that around a mesh bag so you don’t have the drawstring stuff. You just stretch the thing around your heha, like slap you in the stinkers, like the whole package and then you don’t have to worry about anything ever. You just walk around.

“The NPH is nice, I recommend it. It was very helpful and gave me some confidence.”

Neil and his co-stars worked with an on-set intimacy co-ordinator prior and during the filming of the sex scenes, which while he admitted he “thought it would be very strange” initially, it turned out to be “incredibly helpful” for him.

He explained: “It requires that anything that might happen in the scene needs to be written or expressed two days before you film the scene. You don’t have to write in the script, ‘he does this and his hand goes there,’ but in the rider that you film, you say all of the things that could potentially happen so that’s above board. Because what could potentially happen – and I’m a producer on the show as well – you don’t want to be in the position where the scene ends with the script saying ‘they keep making out and start having sex’. Then you don’t know when they’re going to say cut, or know not how far you are supposed to take that…

“As an actor or producer, I can’t go to the other guy and say ‘you’re ok if I do this thing, right?’ because that is a very loaded question, because if he says no, I might not want to hire him again from his perspective, so he says yes as he wants to be a team player, but he might be uncomfortable with that.

“My least favourite thing is making someone feel unintentionally like they didn’t like something. So the intimacy co-ordinator is there to make sure everything is discussed and planned.”

He added: “I thought it would make it all very saccharine and very sterile… And you do talk it through, but you talk it through in a way that can still feel sexy.”

Uncoupled is available to stream on Netflix now, while Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard is available on podcasting platforms.

House Of The Dragon Already Renewed For Season 2, Sky Confirms

Sky has confirmed the fantasy drama – set 200 years before the original hit show – will return for more episodes after the first series wraps up.

House Of The Dragon debuted earlier this week, with its first episode proving a hit with fans of the GOT franchise and critics alike.

Zai Bennett, managing director of content at Sky, said: “House Of The Dragon is already proving to be a ratings hit, and we predict it will go from strength to strength due to the captivating storytelling and incredible production values.

“We look forward to sharing a second series with our customers on Sky and NOW.”

The HBO drama – based on George R R Martin’s Fire And Blood novel – chronicles the beginning of the end of House Targaryen and the events leading up to the Targaryen civil war, known as the Dance of the Dragons.

Matt Smith, Paddy Considine, Olivia Cooke, Steve Toussaint, Fabien Frankel, Sonoya Mizuno and Rhys Ifans are among the cast.

Strictly Come Dancing 2022 Launch Date Revealed – And We Don’t Have Long To Wait

The launch date for the new series of Strictly Come Dancing has been announced – and we don’t have long to wait for this year’s celebs to take to the dance floor.

Former contestant and TV presenter AJ Odudu announced that Strictly will return to BBC One on 17 September on Saturday’s edition of The Big Breakfast.

The 34-year-old, who was forced to withdraw from the final of the dancing competition last year after suffering a torn ligament said: “We do have the exclusive that the launch of Strictly Come Dancing 2022 is going to be September 17. How exciting.”

Professional dancer Johannes Radebe, who was a guest on the Channel 4 morning show, said: “It is exciting, everyone else is waiting for it, we know we can’t face winter without Strictly so I am happy it is back on our screens.”

The launch show is expected to reveal which professional dancer will be paired up with each celebrity contestant.

The new series of the BBC’s flagship entertainment show will see 15 contestants including TV presenter Helen Skelton, EastEnders actor James Bye, singer Fleur East and former England footballer Tony Adams.

Ted Lasso actress Ellie Taylor will also take to the floor, alongside Paralympic swimming gold medallist Ellie Simmonds, actor Will Mellor, Loose Women star Kaye Adams and Coronation Street actress Kym Marsh.

Bros singer Matt Goss, Kiss radio host Tyler West, Britain’s Got Talent finalist Molly Rainford, comedian and actress Jayde Adams, Radio 2’s Richie Anderson and Wildlife cameraman and presenter Hamza Yassin complete the 2022 line-up.

Head judge Shirley Ballas is set to return for the 20th series of the BBC show alongside Anton Du Beke, Craig Revel Horwood and Motsi Mabuse.

Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly will also resume their roles as the show’s hosts.

The last series of Strictly was won by Rose Ayling-Ellis with professional partner Giovanni Pernice.

Rose Ayling-Ellis Leaves EastEnders A Year After Beginning Her Strictly Come Dancing Journey

Strictly Come Dancing champion Rose Ayling-Ellis has announced she is leaving EastEnders after two years with the BBC soap.

Rose began playing Frankie Lewis in 2020, becoming the first deaf actor to play a regular character on the soap.

On Thursday afternoon, the Bafta winner revealed she was stepping down from the role, just over a year after it was first announced she had signed up for last year’s series of Strictly.

She explained: “It’s been incredibly special to be EastEnders’ first regular deaf actor. I have loved my time on the show and Frankie has been such an awesome character to play, however now feels like the right time for me to move on and I am excited and ready for new challenges.

“I will always treasure my time on the show and all the incredible people I have worked with, who have supported my growth as an actor these last two years and given me so many amazing memories.

“I am excited for viewers to see Frankie’s exit storyline; I think it’s a really important one that will hit home for lots of people.”

Frankie will leave Walford this autumn, with Rose’s final scenes in the role having already been filmed.

Rose is probably best known for her participation in the most recent series of Strictly, which she won alongside Giovanni Pernice.

As well as being the first deaf contestant to ever compete on the long-running reality show, Rose and Giovanni later bagged a TV Bafta for the Must-See TV Moment thanks to their stunning Couple’s Choice routine.

Earlier this week, Rose teamed up with Barbie to launch the brand’s first doll who has behind-the-ear hearing aids.
