Charlize Theron Gives Badass Answer To Plastic Surgery Rumours

Charlize Theron has had enough of the plastic surgery rumors about her.

The actor became the official face of Dior’s new J’Adore fragrance last year and has seemingly been accused of going under the knife ever since. In an interview Friday with Allure, the 48-year-old put those sleuths in their place.

“My face is changing, and I love that my face is changing and aging,” she told the outlet. “[But] people think I had a facelift. They’re like, ‘What did she do to her face?’ I’m like, ’Bitch, I’m just aging! It doesn’t mean I got bad plastic surgery. This is just what happens.”

Theron won Hollywood over in the 1990s with roles in The Devil’s Advocate and The Astronaut’s Wife, and scored an Oscar for her role in Monster (2003), where she gained 40 pounds to portray serial killer Aileen Wuornos.

Theron quickly shed that weight “overnight” as a 27-year-old but realised her metabolism had slowed after gaining 35 pounds for “Tully” (2018) and needing an entire year to lose it. The mother of two is now most interested in challenging Hollywood’s beauty standards.

“I’ve always had issues with the fact that men kind of age like fine wines and women like cut flowers,” Theron told Allure. “I despise that concept and I want to fight against it, but I also think women want to age in a way that feels right to them.”

Theron urged people to “be a little bit more empathetic” about everybody's unique “journey.”

Theron ultimately mourns her 25-year-old body “more than my face” and told the outlet she misses being able to perform stunts “and not even hurt tomorrow” — and said she “can’t walk” if she goes to the gym after taking a seemingly trivial three-day break.

The native South African is fortunately distracted from these issues regularly by her kids.

Theron said her eldest was recently “so embarrassed” after spotting one of her Dior ads and told her: “All my friends are gonna see this. I mean, can you just wear a shirt?” While she’s since taken her fame in stride, Theron wants the dialogue around aging to mature.

“I think we need to be a little bit more empathetic to how we all go through our journey,” she told Allure. “My journey of having to see my face on a billboard is quite funny now.”

Khloe Kardashian Has A Blunt Response For Person Who Asks About Her ‘Old Face’

Khloe Kardashian had a one-word response on Wednesday to an Instagram commenter who asked her “do you miss your old face?”

“No,” the Good American founder answered bluntly in the comments under a video about her workout.

She also responded to another commenter who asked her to video herself “without filter,” replying, “What does a filter have to do with the workout, queen?”

The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star first publicly admitted to undergoing plastic surgery in 2021 during a Kardashian-Jenner special hosted by Andy Cohen.

“Everyone says, ‘Oh my gosh, she’s had her third face transplant,’” Kardashian said. “But I’ve had one nose job [by] Dr. Raj Kanodia. And everyone gets so upset, like, ‘Why don’t I talk about it?’”

She said she’d never talked about it because “no one’s ever asked me.”

“You’re the first person in an interview that’s ever asked me about my nose,” Kardashian told Cohen. “I’ve done, sure, injections. Not really Botox. I’ve responded horribly to Botox.”

Kardashian again spoke about her nose job during The Kardashians: An ABC News Special with Robin Roberts last year.

“I’ve always wanted my nose done, forever,” Kardashian said. “But it’s in the middle of your face and it’s scary to think about. But I finally got the courage and I did it and I love it.”

She later told a follower on Twitter that her “only regret is that I didn’t do it sooner.”

Jamie Lee Curtis has spoken of her regrets over having plastic surgery in the past, admitting that it made her “feel worse”.

The acting legend says she is now an “advocate for not fucking with your face” and has also drawn the line at having her hair dyed.

During Tuesday’s edition of Lorraine, host Lorraine Kelly told the Hollywood star that Dawn French had cited her as the inspiration for her new short grey “do”.

Jamie replied: “Lovely! I have been an advocate for natural beauty for a long time, mostly because I’ve had the trial and error of the other part.

“I did plastic surgery – it didn’t work. I hated it. It made me feel worse.”

The Halloween star continued: “I tried to do everything you can do to your hair. Personally, I felt it was humiliating. I would go into a hair salon, the smell of the chemicals, the feeling of that colour on my hair, sitting under the hairdryer – it was like, for what?

“So very early on in my career, I had a perm and then had to dye my hair for a movie, and it burned my hair off my head!

“And the first time I cut my hair short I went, ‘Oh! Oh my god. Oh wow! I look like me!’. Since then I stopped dyeing it, and then I’ve been an advocate for not fucking with your face.”

She added: “And the term, anti-ageing… what? What are you talking about? We’re all going to fucking age! We’re all going to die. Why do you want to look 17 when you’re 70? I want to look 70 when I’m 70.”

Lorraine airs every weekday from 9am on ITV.
