Kate Middleton Reveals She Is Now ‘Cancer Free’ In Intimate Family Video: ‘A Renewed Sense Of Hope’

The Princess of Wales has just revealed she is “cancer free” in a heartfelt family video released on social media.

She did not specify the type of cancer, but explained in a video filmed with BBC Studios: “In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London and at the time, it was thought that my condition was noncancerous.

“The surgery was successful. However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present.”

“My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of that treatment,” she said at the time, explaining that the news was a “huge shock” to her family.

Since announcing the health news, the Princess of Wales has appeared at public events just twice.

She attended the military parade, Trooping the Colour, in June and attended the 2024 Wimbledon men’s final in July.

The heartfelt video posted on Monday showed Kate and her family having fun together in nature, while gentle music plays in the background.

The clip, filed by Will Warr, seems to show a different side to the royals, as the family appear much more affectionate with one another than they usually allow themselves to show in public, and in a more casual setting.

The children are also seen messing around together, while William and Kate have several quiet moments of reflection together.

In a voiceover accompanying the clip, she said:

“As the summer comes to an end, I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment.

“The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family.

“Life as you know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown.

“The cancer journey is complex, scary and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you.

“With humility, it also brings you face to face with your own vulnerabilities in a way you have never considered before, and with that, a new perspective on everything.

“This time has above all reminded William and me to reflect and be grateful for the simple yet important things in life, which so many of us often take for granted.

Of simply loving and being loved.

“Doing what I can to stay cancer free is now my focus.

“Although I have finished chemotherapy, my path to healing and full recovery is long and I must continue to take each day as it comes.

“I am however looking forward to being back at work and undertaking a few more public engagements in the coming months when I can.

“Despite all that has gone before I enter this new phase of recovery with a renewed sense of hope and appreciation of life.

“William and I are so grateful for the support we have received and have drawn great strength from all those who are helping us at this time.

“Everyone’s kindness, empathy and compassion has been truly humbling.

“To all those who are continuing their own cancer journey – I remain with you, side by side, hand in hand. Out of darkness, can come light, so let that light shine bright.”

Kate Middleton And Prince William Celebrate Father’s Day With Sweet New Photo

The picture showed William and Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis standing with their backs turned to the camera, looking out at the beach.

“We love you, Papa,” the caption read. “Happy Father’s Day 💕 G, C & L.”

The photo was taken by the Princess of Wales earlier this year.

In addition to the photo of William and his children, the future king also shared a photo for his dad, King Charles.

“Happy Father’s Day, Pa” the caption said, which William signed “W.”

Kate revealed on Friday that she was attending the celebrations this weekend in a deeply personal message about her chemotherapy treatments.

“I am making good progress, but as anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days,” she said in her message. “On those bad days you feel weak, tired and you have to give in to your body resting.”

“But on the good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of feeling well. My treatment is ongoing and will be for a few more months,” Kate went on, adding that she is “taking each day as it comes, listening to my body, and allowing myself to take this much needed time to heal.”

Prince William Shares First Update On Kate Middleton After Her Cancer Diagnosis

Prince William assured royal followers during an outing on Tuesday that all is well at home.

During a surprise walkabout after an engagement in Newcastle upon Tyne, the Prince of Wales spoke with a concerned fan who asked how he and his family were doing.

“Do you mind if I ask how you and the children are?” a woman in a Union Jack hat and cape asked the prince.

“All doing well ― thank you. Yes, we’re doing well,” William answered in a clip captured by the Daily Mail, as the woman asked about William’s wife, Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales.

“We’re all doing well,” William reiterated, before complimenting the woman’s companion on part of her patriotic outfit.

It was the first update William has shared since Kate announced her cancer diagnosis in a March video, following months of speculation about her health.

“In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London and at the time, it was thought that my condition was noncancerous,” Kate said in the video, adding that her surgery was “successful.”

“However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present,” she explained. “My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy, and I am now in the early stages of that treatment.”

Kate began chemotherapy in February. She did not specify what kind of cancer she has, or its severity.

The palace said at the time that it would provide no further updates on Kate’s health.

“The Princess has a right to medical privacy, as we all do,” a spokesperson said.

William and Kate recently celebrated a happy milestone together, marking their 13th wedding anniversary on Monday with a never-before-seen photo.

The black-and-white portrait was taken by photographer Millie Pilkington.

“13 years ago today!” the couple captured their photo.

Meghan Markle And Prince Harry Share Supportive Message After Kate Middleton’s Cancer News

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle released a statement supporting their sister-in-law after Kate Middleton publicly shared her cancer diagnosis with the world on Friday.

“We wish health and healing for Kate and the family, and hope they are able to do so privately and in peace,” the Duke and Duchess of Sussex said in a statement shared with HuffPost.

In a video shared by Kensington Palace on Friday, the Princess of Wales spoke about her health struggles over the last few months.

“In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London and at the time, it was thought that my condition was noncancerous,” Kate said.

“The surgery was successful. However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present,” she explained. “My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of that treatment.”

“This, of course, came as a huge shock, and William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family,” the Princess of Wales said, adding that “it has taken us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that is appropriate for them, and to reassure them that I am going to be OK.”

Kate ended her message by saying that she looks forward to being back at work when she is able, but she is now focusing on “making a full recovery.”

“At this time, I am also thinking of all those whose lives have been affected by cancer. For everyone facing this disease, in whatever form, please do not lose faith or hope. You are not alone,” she added.

The news comes at a shocking time for the royal family, as Buckingham Palace previously announced on February 5 that King Charles had been diagnosed with cancer, but did not specify the type or the cancer’s severity.

The cancer was discovered following a procedure the king underwent at the hospital for an enlarged prostate.

Kate Middleton Spotted Looking ‘Happy, Relaxed And Healthy’ With Prince William

TMZ obtained footage of the Princess of Wales and Prince William out and about a mile from their Adelaide Cottage home in Windsor, England, on Saturday.

The brief clip shows the royal couple decked out in casual gear — with William in a baseball cap and Kate in leggings and a light jacket — hauling bags as they leave a local business called the Windsor Farm Shop.

The video seems to corroborate eyewitnesses’ claims made to the UK tabloid newspaper The Sun in a report on Sunday that the princess was spotted out in the wild.

One bystander told The Sun that Kate appeared to be “happy, relaxed and healthy”.

Although the footage of the couple may seem somewhat banal, Kate hasn’t been photographed publicly since Christmas, leading many people to wonder where one of the highest-profile women in the world could possibly be.

In January, Kensington Palace attempted to quell speculation by announcing the princess had undergone planned abdominal surgery and would resume public duties sometime after Easter.

The Princess of Wales was last photographed at a Christmas morning service with her family at Sandringham Church on Dec. 25, 2023.

Then came the release of a photo of Kate with her three children last week, that brought the speculation to a bizarre peak. As it turned out, the photo appeared to be highly edited, and multiple news agencies, including The Associated Press, withdrew it from publication.

This led some to hypothesise about where Kate could possibly be, which spanned from genuine conspiracy theories to Freaky Friday jokes involving King Charles and Kate.

Why Prince William’s Bid To End Homelessness Has Raised Eyebrows

Prince William has just started a campaign to end homelessness in the UK – but it’s been met with some scepticism from critics.

The Prince of Wales’ new five-year initiative, called Homewards, aims to eradicate rough sleeping, where organisations and individuals are encouraged to develop “bespoke” action plans to tackle homelessness with up to £500,000 of funding available to six locations across the UK.

His charitable foundation is offering up to £3 million in total, meant to help make homelessness “rare, brief and unrepeated”, because “everyone should have a safe and secure home”.

William has explained that he’s particularly passionate because his mother Princess Diana regularly took him on visits to meet those in need, including those who were homeless.

He is a patron of homelessness charities Centrepoint and The Passage, too.

Yet, this particular initiative risks overstepping the apolitical nature demanded of the constitutional monarchy because it is a subject which is often debated within the Commons as part of the Levelling Up schemes.

His father, now King Charles, was often accused of “meddling” with politics when he was first-in-line to the throne, like his son is now – although Charles appears to have withdrawn from any divisive issues since inheriting the crown.

As historian Sir Anthony Seldon told the BBC, “this is as significant an intervention as any single intervention made by his father when Prince of Wales”, and it is a topic “normally reserved just for elected politicians”.

Then, there’s the practical issues that come with resolving this major issue.

As Ligia Teixeira, chief executive of the Centre for Homelessness Impact, also told the broadcaster: “Ending homelessness for good is not rocket science. The evidence shows it’s harder than that.”

She pointed out that homelessness is linked to many complicated factors like a lack of affordable housing, economic inequality and migration.

There are more than 300,000 people homeless in the UK right now – that includes people who are in temporary accommodation and rough sleepers.

The funds he has put aside for this project also pales in comparison to the £369 million restoration bill for Buckingham Palace which is being partly funded by the taxpayer.

The issue of homelessness is particularly contentious right now too, as the housing crisis looks more precarious than ever. The cost of living crisis has seen rents soar, along with steep interest rates for mortgages which means homeowners are now worrying, too.

William – like all of the royals – is also a wealthy landowner in his own right.

He owns several homes; a Grade-II listed four-bedroom house, Adelaide Cottage near Windsor Castle; an apartment in London’s Kensington Palace; and Anmer Hall in Norfolk.

He told The Sunday Times he planned to have social housing on his land in the Duchy of Cornwall (13,000 acres he inherited, worth approximately £1 billion), but said he wanted to “start small” and that he would reveal more about this when “it’s ready”.

The Duchy offers an annual income of £21 million used to support his family, and his philanthropic work. William voluntarily pays income tax on all revenue from the estate.

But, the Duchy of Cornwall currently advertises luxury holiday cottages for a hefty price tag – a jarring comparison when he’s trying to campaign to end homelessness.

Graham Smith, chief executive of the anti-monarchy group Republic, said it was “crass and hypocritical of William to get involved in this issue, given the excessive wealth we gift him”.

The Guardian’s columnist Zoe Williams also pointed out that this is a huge, systemic issue.

She wrote: ”It’s such an intricate phantasm, collectively constructed, of an old world in which individuals can solve all their own problems, and if they can’t, Prince William can help.”

However, William’s team have argued that he is using his privileged to help the greater good.

A Kensington Palace spokesman said: “This isn’t about a PR stunt. This is about trying to change the way we as a society think about homelessness.”

Prince Harry, Prince William Steer Clear Of Each Other At King Charles’ Coronation

Prince Harry and Prince William reunited under one roof on Saturday for their father, King Charles’ coronation at Westminster Abbey in London.

The estranged brothers, who had very different roles at the coronation ceremony, avoided public interaction during the historical event.

The Prince of Wales, the heir to the throne, dressed in a formal robe and paid homage to his father during the ceremony. He was also a part of the royal family’s procession to Buckingham Palace, where fellow family members appeared on the balcony for a military plane flypast.

By contrast, Harry, who appeared at Westminster Abbey in morning dress by Dior and his military medals, sat two rows behind his brother at Westminster Abbey, as he was not given any role in the ceremony or procession.

Instead, the duke was in the same row as his cousins, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice, and their respective husbands, Jack Brooksbank and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. Prince Andrew, who Harry spoke out against in his memoir, “Spare,” was also seated in the same row.

Harry was not invited to join the royal family for their Buckingham Palace balcony moment. Instead, he is heading back to California today to make it back in time for Prince Archie’s birthday.

Meghan Markle, who was invited to attend the coronation, declined the invite and stayed behind at the couple’s home in Montecito because of Archie’s big day.

While many still hope for reconciliation between the brothers, the two were last publicly seen together at Queen Elizabeth’s funeral in September.

Since the funeral, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have released their six-part Netflix docuseries, while Harry made bombshell claims about the royal family ― and specifically his relationship with his older brother ― in his bestselling memoir, “Spare.”

Harry referred to William as his “beloved brother and archnemesis” in his book and claimed his older brother physically attacked him during a fight in 2019.

Kensington and Buckingham Palace did not issue a statement or publicly respond after Harry’s book came out earlier this year or when the Sussex’s Netflix series debuted late last year. William, however, did address one claim from Harry and Meghan’s bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021.

In that interview, the two alleged that an unspecified member of Britain’s royal family had expressed racist concerns about their then-unborn son, Archie, and the color of his skin.

A reporter later asked William about the claim, and the Prince of Wales said the royals were “very much not a racist family.”

Is King Charles Hiding His Huge ‘Sausage Fingers’ Ahead Of The Coronation?

Chalk it down to coronation fatigue, but some royal watchers are asking an unlikely question – is King Charles hiding his “sausage fingers” from public view?

With days still to go before the big day, and seemingly ever angle covered, attention online has turned to the monarch’s infamous distended digits. Eagle-eyed commentators have seized on two official photographs of the king – one with has his hands behind his back as he stands alongside Camilla, the Queen Consort. Another shows the 74-year-old with one hand in his pocket.

The royal himself dubbed them his “sausage fingers” in a letter he wrote to a friend when he was describing the birth of his son, Prince William, in 1982.

“He really does look surprisingly appetising and has sausage fingers just like mine,” Charles wrote according to the book, The Man Who Will Be King, by Howard Hodgson. The phrase has also repeatedly featured in reports, including while on tour in Australia in 2012.

Not for the first time, the monarch’s puffy pointers have been the talk of social media, with the tabloids picking up on the suggestion Charles has been “bullied” into hiding them. “Show us his hands cowards,” one Twitter user demanded while quote-tweeting the royal family account.

Former BBC broadcaster Jon Sopel, who now fronts the popular The News Agents podcast, joined the speculation. He tweeted: “The coronation story we’ve all missed…going to say it’s not first time I’ve seen him with hands behind his back….”

When the former prince and his pinkies previously topped Google searches, doctors have stepped forward to attempt to explain what’s going on (Charles has not offered an explanation).

On TikTok last year, soon after he took the throne, Dr David Reiner explained there’s probably a biological reason for the swelling in the royal’s fingers.

He explained: “Throughout your body you’ve got blood vessels that deliver oxygen to your cells.

“These blood vessels are full of red blood cells and fluids – now there are pressures within the blood vessels that cause fluid to exit them.”

Dr Reiner went on to share that “oncotic forces” pull this fluid back into the blood vessels – in most people, if there’s fluid build-up outside the vessel at all, this is usually returned to the heart via the lymphatic system.

So, because King Charles has massive swollen fingers, Dr Reiner says that the new monarch’s lymphatic system might not be working correctly and that fluid is getting stuck outside the blood vessels causing the extreme swelling in his fingers.

Although there may be many other reasons for the King’s swollen digits, according to this doctor, fluid retention may be the answer.

Princess Charlotte Shows Off The Biggest Grin In Birthday Photo Taken By Kate Middleton

Princess Charlotte’s eighth birthday is kicking off a historic time of celebrations for the royal family.

Prince William and Kate Middleton marked the special occasion by sharing a photo of their middle child taken by the Princess of Wales in Windsor over the weekend.

In the photo, Charlotte is seen wearing a white dress with colorful flowers on it, while showing off the biggest grin (and a few missing teeth). The young princess bears a striking resemblance to both her father and her late great-grandmother Queen Elizabeth.

It’s been a busy time for the Wales family, as William and Kate recently celebrated their 12th wedding anniversary over the weekend.

Kensington Palace on Saturday shared a relaxed photo of the couple during a bike ride, which was part of a series of photos taken of the family last year. The photos were shot in Windsor by one of the couple’s favored photographers, Matt Porteous.

Other snaps from the family photo shoot were used to commemorate the UK’s Mother’s Day, as well as in the Wales family Christmas card last year.

Just last month, William and Kate’s youngest child, Prince Louis, celebrated his 5th birthday.

The photos were a break from family tradition, as they were taken by photographer Millie Pilkington. Generally, the family’s birthday photos are taken by Kate, who is an avid photographer. For this birthday, the Princess of Wales made a surprise cameo in one of the photos with a grinning Louis.

As of Monday, the British royal family is just five days away from King Charles and Queen Camilla’s historic coronation ― the first the UK has seen in seven decades.

It is expected that Princess Charlotte will accompany her parents to the Westminster Abbey ceremony, though it hasn’t been officially confirmed by Kensington Palace.

Prince George will also be a part of the monumental occasion, as he’s nabbed a role as one of four Pages of Honour during the service on Saturday.

“His parents are very excited and delighted that he is a page,” a spokesperson for the Prince and Princess of Wales told People magazine in April. “It’s something that his parents have thought long and hard about and are very much looking forward to — and I’m sure George is too.”

Prince William And Kate Middleton’s New Anniversary Photo Might Look Very Familiar

Kate Middleton and Prince William rang in their 12th wedding anniversary on Saturday, as Kensington Palace released a new photo of the couple to mark the special occasion.

“12 years ❤️,” reads the Instagram caption for the picture, which was taken by one of the couple’s favored photographers, Matt Porteous.

In the relaxed shot, the Prince and Princess of Wales are posed on bicycles with their arms around each other, smiling at the camera. Both are dressed in casual outfits, with William in a blue collared shirt, jeans and sunglasses.

Kate wears a patterned white shirt, jeans and white sneakers, while carrying a crossbody purse.

The photo might look familiar to any avid royal watcher, as it was among those taken at the family’s Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, England, last year.

William and Kate used one of those snaps for their 2022 Christmas card, which featured their three children: Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. Other photos from the shoot were used to mark Mother’s Day in the UK.

The Princess of Wales recently made a cameo in another royal family picture to mark Louis’ 5th birthday last weekend. A smiling Kate was shown carrying Louis as he perched in a wheelbarrow with a big grin on his face.

The new picture of Louis was taken by photographer Millie Pilkington, in a break from tradition. Normally, Kate takes shots of her family for big milestones, as she is an avid photographer herself.

The royals are gearing up for a historic weekend next month, as the UK prepares for the coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla.

Prince George, a future heir to the throne, is set to play a major role in the ceremony, as he will be one of his grandfather’s pages of honour on May 6.
