Here’s Who’ll Be Taking Over James Corden’s Former Talk Show Slot

When James Corden stepped down as the host of his aptly-named US chat show The Late, Late Show earlier this year, the first question on the lips of many viewers was who would be taking over his slot.

Enter: comedian Taylor Tomlinson, who has confirmed she’ll be occupying the spot on the schedule once occupied by the former Gavin & Stacey star.

Taylor – who has previously fronted two Netflix specials in 2020 and 2022 – will present a new show, After Midnight, in the same slot that James used to (that’s 12:37am ET/PT, for those wondering).

Produced by talk show great Stephen Colbert, the announcement was made during an episode of the comedian’s own show, The Late Show.

In the clip, Stephen plucks Taylor out of the audience, seemingly at random – oh, the magic of television – and brings her onto the couch.

Taylor begins by introducing herself to the audience and saying: “I’ve never had a real job… I’ve been doing stand-up since I was 16, which is not a job.”

She then went on to field any objections to her appointment as host, saying: “I’m 29 so if you don’t know who I am, don’t worry. I barely know myself.”

With her 30th birthday just days away, Stephen replied: “Happy birthday, I got you a network show.”

After Midnight will follow Stephen’s show in the schedule, and Taylor’s introduction as host will make her the only female late-night host across the United States, and the youngest by 20 years.

After Midnight With Taylor Tomlinson will be based on the previous Comedy Central show, Midnight With Chris Hardwick, which originally ran from 2013 to 2017.

Her show is set to premiere in early 2024.

Glastonbury Ticket Sale Delayed By Two Weeks, Organisers Confirm

The sale of this year’s Glastonbury tickets has been pushed back just hours before they were due to be released.

On Thursday evening, tickets including coach travel for the annual music event were supposed to go on sale at 6pm, with general sale tickets scheduled to be available from Sunday 5 November.

However, organisers confirmed in the afternoon that the sale had been delayed by two weeks to “ensure that everyone who would like to buy a ticket is registered and therefore eligible to purchase one”.

It’s also been confirmed that coach tickets will go on sale from Thursday 16 November at 6pm, followed by general release on Sunday 19 November at 9am.

In a lengthy statement, the festival explained: “Following this year’s Festival, we alerted everyone with a registration which pre-dated 2020 of a scheduled review of the details held by See Tickets in the Glastonbury Festival registration database.

“This was in order to ensure that the details we hold are current and that we do not store individuals’ information for any longer than is necessary.”

“These registrants were asked to take action to confirm their registration if they wished to keep it,” the statement continued.

“As always, registration was then closed on Monday (30 October) ahead of the ticket sale. Unfortunately, it has come to light that some individuals hoping to buy tickets for 2024 have discovered after Monday’s registration deadline that they are no longer registered, despite believing they were.

“Out of fairness to those individuals, we will be re-opening the window for registration at 12 noon on Monday, 6 November. It will remain open until 5pm on Monday, 13 November.

“We urge everyone hoping to buy a ticket to Glastonbury 2024 to either check their existing registration now or submit new registration, which remains free of charge […] from 12 noon on Monday.”

They added: “We apologise for the late change to the ticket sale dates, but we want to ensure that everyone who would like to buy a ticket for next year’s Festival is able to confirm their registration ahead of the sale.”

Next year’s Glastonbury event will take place from 26-30 June 2024, at the event’s usual site, Worthy Farm.

Information about which acts will be taking to the stage is yet to be confirmed, but that hasn’t stopped rumours from swirling, with Bruce Springsteen and Madonna among the latest stars tipped to be performing.

Emily Eavis previously teased that two of next year’s Pyramid Stage headliners are women, neither of whom have performed at the event before, after the festival was criticised over its line-up in 2023.

Salma Hayek Reflects On ‘Special Bond’ With Late Former Co-Star Matthew Perry

Salma Hayek is reflecting on her “special bond” with her former co-star Matthew Perry.

Perry was found dead Saturday at 54 from an apparent drowning in his jacuzzi. He was best known for his role as Chandler Bing on Friends, but he also starred opposite Hayek in Fools Rush In (1997) as strangers who unexpectedly conceive a child in Las Vegas.

Hayek shared a nostalgic Instagram photo Monday that appears to have been taken during production of the film. The reflective carousel also included a screenshot of an old Instagram story from Perry — in which stated that “Fools Rush In” was “probably my best movie.”

“I woke up to the shocking news that Matthew Perry is no longer with us,” wrote Hayek. “It’s taken me a couple of days to process this profound sadness. There is a special bond that happens when you share dreams with someone, and together you work towards them.”

She continued, “I was very moved last year when Matthew shared on his Instagram stories how much he loved ‘Fools Rush In’ and how he thought that the film we did together was probably his best movie.”

Perry had already wrapped three seasons of Friends as one of its most popular cast members when Fools Rush In hit cinemas. The late actor reflected on its production in his 2022 memoir, Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing — with fond memories of Hayek.

He recounted in the book that Hayek had “some fun strategies to tap into real feelings and to be more of a leading man than a funny sitcom actor” for the film and “came into my trailer at the start of the shoot and said, ‘Let’s just spoon a little bit.’”

Perry continued: “I did my best Chandler impression — the double-take-and-sardonic-stare thing — and said, ‘Oh, OK! Let’s just spoon a little bit!’”

Perry recalled another hilarious suggestion from Hayek during a pivotal scene in which his character, a real estate developer forced to choose between his old life in New York City and his unexpected new family in Las Vegas, professes his love for her.

“She suggested that we don’t look at each other — rather, we should look out at our future together,” wrote Perry in his memoir. “After listening to this nonsense for about 20 minutes, I finally said, ‘Listen, Salma.’ I said, ‘I’m telling you I love you in this scene.’”

Perry continued: “‘You look wherever you want, but I’m going to be looking at you.’”

Hayek, who married French businessman François-Henri Pinault in 2009, wrote Monday in her post that she and Perry “found ourselves reminiscing about that meaningful time in our lives with a deep sense of nostalgia and gratitude” over the past two decades.

“My friend, you are gone much too soon, but I will continue to cherish your silliness, your perseverance, and your lovely heart,” wrote Hayek. “Farewell, sweet Matthew, we will never forget you.”

Perry’s autopsy results are currently inconclusive, as a toxicology report remains pending.

Channing Tatum And Zoe Kravitz Are Reportedly Engaged

What a treat for actors Channing Tatum and Zoë Kravitz: They reportedly got engaged before Halloween.

People reported the new development in the pair’s two-year relationship on Monday, citing multiple unnamed sources. ET later also reported the news.

The couple met while making Zoe’s directorial debut, Pussy Island, a thriller that stars Channing as a tech billionaire who hosts an intimate gathering on his private island.

Behind the scenes, the two quickly bonded.

“Whether it was making me tea or pouring me a drink or going to whip someone into shape or whatever — he really was my protector and it was really wonderful and sweet,” she told GQ in 2022.

“I think if you can do something like that together, it’s a good test. And we came out even stronger.”

Channing has built some of his career on the Magic Mike male stripper franchise while Zoe recently raised her profile by starring as Catwoman in The Batman with Robert Pattinson as the caped crusader.

They’re playing dress-up off-screen too these days ― they were recently photographed in a Rosemary’s Baby send-up theme on the way to Kendall Jenner’s Halloween party over the weekend.

You can see the possible engagement bling on her finger as Zoe, in costume as as Rosemary Woodhouse from the 1968 horror flick, walks with Channing, who’s, well, a baby.

Channing was previously married to Jenna Dewan, with whom he shares a 10-year-old daughter. Zoe, the daughter of celebrity exes Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet, filed for divorce from Karl Glusman in late 2020 and it was finalised in 2021.

Rebecca Loos Opens Up About ‘Horrific’ Trolling She’s Received Following David Beckham’s Netflix Doc

Rebecca Loos has opened up about the trolling she has received following the release of David Beckham’s Netflix documentary.

Back in 2004, David’s ex-PA Rebecca claimed she had engaged in a four-month-long affair with the then-Real Madrid player, in an interview with the now-defunct News Of The World – which Becks blasted at the time as “ludicrous”.

But after the Beckhams discussed the media frenzy surrounding the allegations in the four-part documentary, Rebecca says has been targeted online.

Speaking on Good Morning Britain on Monday, Rebecca revealed: “I woke up to all these horrific messages on Instagram being called horrible names, awful trolling.

“I had heard about trolling before but never experienced it because 20 years ago we didn’t have social media.”

In the Netflix documentary – which is titled Beckham and aired on the streaming service on 4 October – David discussed the “pressure” the tabloid attention put on his and wife Victoria’s marriage.

“There were some horrible stories that were difficult to… deal with,” he revealed. “It was the first time that me and Victoria had been put under that kind of pressure in our marriage.”

“There were some days I would wake up and think, ‘How am I gonna go to work, how am I gonna walk onto that training pitch, how am I gonna look as though nothing’s wrong?’

“I felt physically sick every day when I opened my eyes, ‘How am I gonna do this?’”

Victoria added that the story was “a hundred per cent” the “hardest time” in her marriage, which came five years after they tied the knot in 1999.

Now the mother of two sons who are aged 14 and 11, Rebecca said during her GMB interview that she had told them about the documentary and “what had been said and how it made mummy feel”.

She added: “I said, ‘I feel that it’s very unfair, because of the way I’m being treated now, and the bullying I’m getting and the trolling, and I want to say something, and I’m going to do an interview so there might be some media and how do you feel about that?’

“And so my youngest son said, ‘Good for you, mummy. Yes, I would say something too.’”

No More Soggy Bottoms: The Great British Bake Off Has Returned To Form

One of the catastrophes that can befall competitors on The Great British Bake Off is the dreaded soggy bottom: instead of a crisp and flaky crust, the base of their pie has turned into a gooey and congealed mess.

Lately, the long-running baking competition series, known for being one of the most comforting shows on television, has produced too many soggy bottoms. Embarrassing culturally themed weeks that made a mockery of the cuisines they were intended to celebrate. Hosts with an annoying tendency to turn everything into a dumb comedy bit. The overuse of gimmicks and stunts deviated from actual baking tasks, and sometimes even felt like they were setting the bakers up to fail. All of these have left a sour taste, like a curdled custard or a burned caramel.

So this summer, when Bake Off producers promised this year’s season would be a return to form, I thought: “I’ll believe it when I see it.”

To the relief of us long-suffering Bake Off fans, the new season has so far delivered, like when a baker knocks their bake out of the park and receives a coveted handshake from pompous and notoriously hard-to-please judge Paul Hollywood (or less annoyingly, when judge Prue Leith declares a baker’s bake “a triumph”). As soon as I hit play on the first episode, I felt the cozy vibes envelop me.

The show’s producers admitted the culturally themed weeks were a misstep and that some of the challenges have become too elaborate. As a result, they’ve pledged to stick to classic themes, like cakes, bread, biscuits and pastries. We can breathe a little easier, knowing there isn’t a horrifically bad culturally-themed week looming. And the cringey comedy bits have largely been kept to a minimum and haven’t felt overly hacky. For instance, the season premiere, which typically opens with a pop culture-themed sketch, began with The Breadfather, a spoof of The Godfather, which was actually pretty funny.

My renewed sense of optimism in the show comes down to a hero ingredient, as the judges like to say when looking for a dominant flavour in a baker’s finished product. New co-host Alison Hammond couldn’t be a more perfect fit for the show. With her instant warmth and exuberance, infectious laugh, and clear appreciation for the show and its bakers, it’s like she was born to preside over the Bake Off tent. Moreover, as an experienced TV host, she seems to understand exactly what a Bake Off host is meant to do. She banters and jokes with the bakers, ensuring they’re doing OK and not feeling too nervous. She also knows when to get out of the way and keep things moving.

That’s the key: Don’t distract from the bakers, who are the real stars. Although, other than when they are awarded Star Baker, it feels weird to call them stars since what makes them so endearing is that they’re regular people. A typical Bake Off contestant is often earnest, self-deprecating and focused on trying their best. This year’s batch of bakers are as delightful as always, like Tasha, who immediately won me over when she roasted Hollywood early in the first episode; and Saku, whose cheerful enthusiasm and snarky quips remind me of every boisterous Asian auntie at a family friend’s dinner party.

Bake Off makes great television by turning each baking task into a high-stakes emotional journey — but not in the deliberately manipulative way we typically associate with reality television. Last week’s episode, Chocolate Week, was, dare I say, the most stressful episode of TV this year since Connor’s Wedding. The drama! The tension! Will the bakers’ homemade chocolates come out of their molds? Will their edible chocolate boxes stand up? Will their fillings stay solid or ooze out like a mudslide? Will everyone finish on time? And why, every season, is it always sweltering on the day the bakers are tasked with tempering chocolate?! What sweet, sweet relief I felt when the judges decided it wouldn’t be fair to eliminate anyone because of the strenuous conditions in the tent: Tasha, who nearly passed out due to the heat, wasn’t able to finish her bake. Whew, what an anxiety-inducing hour of television!

There are also season-long narratives to follow and become invested in. Each season, some bakers consistently do well, while some bakers are a bit shaky at first — and then, week by week, get better and better. It’s a real joy to watch bakers who come into their own as the season unfolds, and they surprise even themselves with how good they are.

Even though it is, of course, a highly produced TV show, the appeal of Bake Off is that the recipe isn’t particularly complicated: Pleasant bakers making magical creations in pastel-coloured kitchens inside a sun-filled tent in the British countryside. Here’s hoping the show continues to stick to the recipe, steering clear of soggy bottoms and producing a triumph worthy of being awarded Star Baker.

Everyone’s favourite reality series about luxury real estate (and fashion) in Los Angeles, Selling Sunset is heading back to Netflix next week.

Season seven will dive straight back into the lives, careers and drama of the team at the Oppenheim Group – and it’s safe to say we’re hoping it will address some of the unanswered questions from the end of the last series.

What’s guaranteed, however, is another season of fallouts, new friendships, great fashion and you guessed it, some bell-ringing for those all-important house sales too.

Ahead of it’s release, here’s everything you need to know about season seven of Selling Sunset…

What happens in season 7 of Selling Sunset?

First of all, if you need a season six recap, we’ve got you covered.

But in the six months since it aired, a lot has happened. Heather welcomed her first child, Chrishell got married to G-Flip in Vegas, and there’s rumours of a surprising feud between Amanza and Chrishell (which the former teased season seven would touch on).

The explosive teaser for season seven sees threats of the gloves coming off at the OG, as bosses Jason and Brett warn the agents that they need to step up after becoming “complacent.”

The twins even compare them to their Selling the OC counterparts, who are seen at the table in a reality series crossover, as Gio tells them he doesn’t want their office to be paying for the new LA one. Ouch.

After some time in Australia with her partner G-Flip, Chrishell attempts to find a balance between her professional life and personal one, though it seems she isn’t quite on board with Jason’s new girlfriend, Marie-Lou. As she tells her: “I’m losing braincells over this conversation.”

Bre and Chelsea still seem to be at odds, while it’s unclear if Nicole and Chrishell have resolved their legal drama from the previous season.

Chrishell also doesn’t turn up to a dinner and Amanza seems to document it and call it “ridiculous” that she doesn’t attend. Could this be the beginning of the feud that led to Amanza blocking her friend on Instagram? Guess we’ll have to tune in to find out.

Who is returning for Selling Sunset season 7?

From the trailer it seems to safe to say most of the show’s main cast will be returning this season including Chrishell, Jason, Brett, Mary and her husband Romaine, Amanza, Emma, Chelsea, Nicole and Bre. It’s unclear if Davina will appear again after she had less screen time in season six, and isn’t seen in the trailer either.

Heather Rae El Moussa will also return, though it’s likely that she’ll pop up throughout the season as the star was heavily pregnant and went onto maternity with her baby boy during filming.

There’s no sign of Christine’s return, though, which isn’t surprising as she said she wouldn’t come back “in a million years.”
