How Pamela Anderson Really Feels About Oscars Snub For ‘The Last Showgirl’

Pamela Anderson may be enjoying some of the best reviews of her career, but she says she isn’t too vexed about not snagging an Oscar nomination.

Anderson had become a surprise award season contender for “The Last Showgirl,” directed by Gia Coppola. But when the Academy Award nominations were unveiled Thursday, the actor ― and “The Last Showgirl” as a whole ― were noticeably absent from the list.

Speaking to Elle shortly after the nominations were announced, the “Baywatch” actor reiterated how “The Last Showgirl” represented a major step up for her as an actor nonetheless.

“Oh my gosh, it’s not something I ever expected. Doing the work is the win,” she told the outlet. “That’s what I like to do, and I think we can lose sight of that sometimes in this whole crazy awards season, but it’s nice to be recognized, and it’s all a bonus.”

And while Anderson may have missed out on an Oscar nod, she remains grateful at having received her first Golden Globe nomination and a Screen Actors Guild (SAG) nomination for her performance.

“I couldn’t imagine [it] anyway. I’m happy for the SAG nomination, that’s [voted on by] your peers,” she said. “That’s really cool. This has been a long road promoting this film.”

Released last month, “The Last Showgirl” follows Shelly (played by Anderson), a Las Vegas performer thrust into economic uncertainty when her long-running casino show is axed. The film co-stars Jamie Lee Curtis, who received a SAG and BAFTA nomination, and Dave Bautista.

Anderson has described the success of “The Last Showgirl” as “the best payback” for Hulu’s “Pam & Tommy,” which was made without her involvement and depicted her mid-1990s sex tape scandal with now-ex-husband Tommy Lee.

The accolades are paying off in other ways, too. It was recently announced that Anderson joined the cast of “Rosebush Pruning,” an upcoming thriller that stars Elle Fanning and Riley Keough. She’s also set to star opposite Liam Neeson in a remake of the crime spoof comedy “The Naked Gun.”

Pamela Anderson Goes Makeup-Free In Stunning Paris Fashion Week Appearance

Pamela Anderson knows that bare-faced is beautiful.

The former Baywatch star shone in a stripped-back version of her signature look while attending the Isabel Marant show at Paris Fashion Week on Thursday.

In photos from the event, Pamela wore a sleeveless yellow dress and a colour-coordinated bag from the brand, with neutral heels.

She paired the look with simple studs and a necklace, and wore her wavy, iconic blonde hair down.

Pamela has rocked similarly fresh-faced looks at other fashion shows recently, including The Row’s runway show at Paris Fashion Week on Wednesday and at the Proenza Schouler show earlier this month during New York Fashion Week.

The actor regularly went makeup-free in her documentary, Pamela, A Love Story, and has spoken about why she’s scaled back her signature look.

Pamela told Elle Magazine in August that she decided to forgo her typical look after she lost her makeup artist, Alexis Vogel, to breast cancer.

“She was the best,” she told the outlet of her close friend. “And since then, I just felt, without Alexis, it’s just better for me not to wear makeup.”

Pamela described the experience of being makeup-free as “freeing, and fun, and a little rebellious too.”

“Because I did notice that there were all these people doing big makeup looks, and it’s just like me to go against the grain and do the opposite [of] what everyone’s doing,” she added.

Jennifer Coolidge Is Open To Seeing This Fan Favourite Join The White Lotus

Jennifer Coolidge seems to have her eyes on a fan favourite Twitter users are begging to join the next season of The White Lotus.

After winning her first SAG award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series at Sunday night’s ceremony, Jennifer spoke with Entertainment Tonight about the highly anticipated season three of the hit series.

Jennifer starred as the lovably loony Tanya McQuoid-Hunt in the first two seasons of The White Lotus. She recently scored her first Golden Globe and her first Emmy for her role in the series, which has led to a massive career resurgence for the actor.

At the end of season two, many viewers were shocked and upset after Jennifer’s character narrowly escaped death, only to die a silly accidental death later.

After Tanya was killed off, fans quickly flooded Twitter with some pretty noteworthy plot ideas for how to resurrect her in the show’s upcoming season.

While Coolidge was speaking with ET’s Denny Directo alongside her co-star, Jon Gries (who plays Greg Hunt), Gries tossed out the idea that “Jennifer play Jennifer’s sister.”

However, Jennifer rapidly turned down the idea. “I don’t think Mike’s going to allow that,” she said, referring to the show’s creator, Mike White.

When ET told Jennifer about Twitter’s viral campaign to get Pamela Anderson on the show, she seemed to enjoy the idea of the Baywatch icon joining the cast as Tanya’s sister.

“I just recently saw Pam’s documentary and I called 100 people to watch it. And I swear to God, we all had the same reaction. It’s amazing,” Jennifer said, gushing about Anderson’s recent Netflix documentary Pamela, A Love Story. “You finally get the real story, and she’s got this huge comeback.”

Though plot details are still under wraps for the forthcoming season of The White Lotus, Pamela reacted to mounting fan requests to see her cast on the series during an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show earlier this month.

Sharing that she’s “up for anything,” the star cautiously added, “I think that would be an incredible challenge, but like I said, I’m not an ambitious person. I just like to go with the flow.”

Pamela continued, “So, I don’t really know what’s next, but I know I haven’t really had the opportunity to see what I’m capable of on film yet.”

In the Unpacking S2 E7 clip at the end of the White Lotuss season two finale, White hinted that season three could take place in Asia and focus on “death and Eastern religion and spirituality.”

“The first season kind of highlighted money, and then the second season is sex,” Mike White said. “I think the third season would be maybe a satirical and funny look at death and Eastern religion and spirituality. It feels like it could be a rich tapestry to do another round at White Lotus.”

In her newly-released Netflix documentary, Pamela Anderson reflects on her life and career in what she’s said is her attempt to “set the record straight”.

And at the doc’s red carpet premiere on Monday night, she was obviously still feeling the nostalgia.

Pamela was seen attending the event in a bright red gown that appeared to pay tribute to her most iconic look.

The bright colour and round neck of Pammy’s outfit put many in mind of the swimsuit she wore in Baywatch, the TV series that shot her to fame in the 1990s.

Alongside her at the documentary’s premiere were her two sons Brandon Thomas and Dylan Jagger, whose father is Motley Crue musician, and Pamela’s ex-husband, Tommy Lee.

Brandon and Dylan feature heavily in their mum’s new documentary, Pamela, A Love Story, with reports claiming it was their idea that she tell her own story in the film.

The doc is now streaming on Netflix, debuting almost a year to the day after Pam & Tommy – the miniseries in which Lily James portrayed the Baywatch icon – first aired.

The show centred around Pamela’s marriage to Tommy Lee, and the theft of their private sex tape in the late 90s.

While Pam & Tommy received a largely positive reaction, including Emmy nominations for cast members Lily James, Sebastian Stan and Seth Rogen, it was made without the input or approval of the woman who inspired it.

Last week, Pamela branded the team behind Pam & Tommy “assholes” for going ahead without her consent, although she made it clear she had no beef with Lily James.
