Actors Are Auctioning Off Completely Bonkers Services To Raise Money During Strikes

If you’ve ever yearned for a watercolor portrait of your dog painted by John Lithgow, there’s no need to beg — you can have it.

That is, if you’re willing to shell out thousands of dollars for a good cause.

Celebrities are offering up their time, precious memorabilia, and, uh, lesser-known talents, to raise money as part of the Union Solidarity Coalition, a charity that was set up this year to financially support Hollywood crew members who are out of work due to the writers strike, Variety reported.

TV and film writers, and more recently, actors, are on strike over pay and working conditions. The Union Solidarity Coalition explains on its website that it’s raising funds for unionized crew members because the ongoing strikes are putting many workers in the entertainment industry at risk of not qualifying for health insurance next quarter.

So, to make sure out-of-work crew members can get the medical care they need, the coalition got famous folks to offer up some goods and services on eBay. The online auction opened for bids on Tuesday evening and runs through Sept. 22.

Some of the offerings are pretty tame — like a Hawaiian shirt signed by Weird Al Yankovic and Daniel Radcliffe, or an apron signed by the cast of “The Bear.”

As you can imagine, when the news hit X, formerly Twitter, people had some very funny things to say about these auctions.

Inevitably, the more outrageous celebrity offerings also sparked a meme, with social media users imagining what they’d like their favorite celebrity to auction off.

Best part? Unlike participating in the auction itself, reading people’s hilarious auction ideas is totally free. Check them out below!

Rob McElhenney Reveals Diagnosis Of Learning Disabilities

Rob McElhenney, star of the hit show It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, revealed that he has been diagnosed with “a host of neurodevelopmental disorders and learning disabilities”.

The actor, 46, shared news of the diagnosis Tuesday on Twitter but did not disclose the specifics. McElhenney acknowledged in his tweet that he typically wouldn’t share such information publicly but decided to do so to help others in similar situations.

Examples of neurodevelopmental disabilities can include attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism, learning disabilities, visual and hearing disabilities, and cerebral palsy.

According to a study conducted from 2009 to 2017 by the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention, about one in six children ages six to 17 had a developmental disability. The American Psychiatric Association found that 2.5% of adults in the US have ADHD. But some research shows that many adults with ADHD remain undiagnosed.

“It’s not something I would normally talk about publicly but I figured there are others who struggle with similar things and I wanted to remind you that you’re not alone. You’re not stupid. You’re not ‘bad’. It might feel that way sometimes. But it’s not true :)” he tweeted.

Fans responded to his tweet with an outpouring of support and gratitude for his openness, with several sharing their experiences with disability diagnoses as well.

McElhenney will be sharing the full diagnosis and prognosis in an episode of The Always Sunny Podcast, a production that McElhenney and his co-stars Glenn Howerton and Charlie Day began hosting together in 2021.

Jennifer Lawrence Admits She Was An ‘Accidental Bully’ In High School

Jennifer Lawrence admitted she was an “accidental bully” to someone in school and still keeps track of the person.

“I was an accidental bully because I pantsed this kid named Tyler,” the star said in an interview with E! News last week while promoting her new movie, No Hard Feelings.

“We were, like, pantsing people at a football game and I accidentally grabbed his underwear and he got really embarrassed,” Lawrence explained.

“I feel really bad, I like sometimes Google him,” she continued. “Just to be like, ‘You all right?’”

No hard feelings, Tyler? We’ll have to see.

The Hunger Games actor also said she was bullied herself by one girl, who she named with no remorse.

“This one girl named Meredith handed me a stack of invitations to her birthday party, but I was not invited,” she said, as her co-star Andrew Feldman gasped and exclaimed, “Oh my god!”

“She asked me to hand them out. Isn’t that so mean?” Lawrence said, adding: “It’s fine, I spit on them and threw them in the trash.”

While Lawrence may or may not be drawing on her past school experiences for her new movie, she told Vogue last year “so many of my films in the past have been about my mother, my childhood”.

And now that she’s a new mom, she told the outlet, she wonders “what will happen now that I’ll be witnessing somebody else’s childhood”.

“And I wonder what he’s going to be talking about with his therapist,” she said. “She wouldn’t put me down. She kisses me on the mouth. She asked me not to go to college.”
